I've been swamped with last-week-on-the-job details, along with getting over the flu (first time in years without a flu vaccination, and wham) and writing my final column for the Mercury News (it appears on Sunday). I hope everyone got to see the actual television-aired version of the ABC News "People of the Year" segment on bloggers. It may have been one of the most non-dismissive mainstream segments on anything Internet related that I've seen in the past ten years.

Days or weeks ago I saw or overheard in a cable news here (half the world away) about a well-known journalist risking everything just to try out this "citizen journalism". This past several days its really quite hard to keep a smile but as I'm about to sleep I end up with this site and then I realized you're the person in the news...that put a smile to my face. Belated Happy New Year !!!!!

I'm using Typepad for a blog for the time being. It was easy to set up, and I hope it'll be easy to maintain. I have no connection otherwise with Six Apart apart from knowing (and liking) the people involved with the company.
